The Verona Wildcats Youth Hockey Association provides boys and girls in the Verona Area School District the opportunity to participate in the sport of ice hockey. Players residing in surrounding school districts that do not have an established youth hockey association are also eligible to participate in the Verona Wildcats Youth Hockey program.

Formerly recognized as the Southwest Eagles, our organization was started in 1986 when the youth hockey programs of Verona, Oregon and Middleton merged to form the Eagles. Eventually hockey programs began in both Middleton and Oregon and they were no longer members of the Southwest Hockey Association. As a result of these new associations, skaters living in the Verona School District became the primary source of skaters for our organization.

In the spring of 2014, the association membership voted unanimously at our annual meeting to rename our organization and become the Verona Wildcats Youth Hockey Association. This name change provides a fresh look and brand identity to a program that calls Verona home. The Wildcat name will fall in line with the names of other youth sports programs in Verona while forming a stronger tie and relationship with the 2014 & 2020  WIAA State Hockey Champions, VAHS Wildcats.

Our skaters, parents, families, volunteers, coaches, and sponsors work hard to create a program known in the area for being a leader in youth hockey. We are always striving to improve our organization and keep this great game affordable for those who wish to participate.

The Verona Wildcats Youth Hockey Association is committed to creating a strong, family-friendly community of individuals focused on all aspects of player development and the promotion of hockey in Verona and the surrounding area. Our goal is to develop players to be well rounded, grounded, confident individuals—demonstrating leadership, teamwork and respect for themselves and others, on and off the ice, with a life-long passion to succeed.
