PeeWee B Earns Spot at State

What an exciting weekend for the PeeWee B team, earning a spot in the State finals. As total underdogs, they defeated the Patriots on Friday night 5-4 in overtime just to make it into the playoffs. Then they followed that great game with another moral victory against the Polar Caps loosing only 4-1. Sunday they needed to defeat the 2nd ranked Middleton team to make it to State, and they fought every second of the game holding off Middleton with a 3-2 lead going into the last 2 minutes. Middleton pulled their goalie but the kids held on getting 2 empty net goals at the end to secure the victory, winning 5-2.

Unbelievable performances out of every skater! Coach Bill McCoshen said "it was hard to focus on the Super Bowl yesterday. All I could think about was how well our guys played all weekend long. Every kid on the team raised their game to a level they had not played at this year. They proved something to themselves and to each other. It was really fun to watch."

Coach Carl Makuch added additional motivation for the kids, with a promise of a sacrificial hair cutting if they made it to State, and he did gladly submit to the clippers in the locker room following the game. And if you see a few kids with lighter then normal locks, a few vowed to go blond if they won.

Word has it that Coach Bill's locks are next if they win State, and with the way this team came together I wouldn't count on needing a hair appointment in March Bill.

Congratulations Kids, we are so proud of every one of you!
